New patient appointments

If you are seeing Dr Dallalana for the first time, you will require a valid referral from your GP or another medical specialist.

  • GP referrals are valid for 12 months
  • Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months

A current referral is required to be eligible for a Medicare rebate and helps provide important background information about your condition.

You may still see Dr Dallalana for a consultation without a referral (for e.g. if referred by an allied health practitioner) however the Medicare rebate for the consultation will not be available. If surgery or another procedure is required later, a referral will be needed prior to that to allow refund from private healthcare funds and Medicare.

What to bring to your appointment

To support a thorough assessment, please bring:

  • Your referral letter
  • Any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI, CT, ultrasound) and reports
  • A list of current medications and relevant medical history
  • Your Medicare card and private health insurance details (if applicable)
  • Information about any previous surgery or treatment
  • Your completed New Patient Form (if possible, emailed prior)
  • Comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being assessed

Your appointment with Dr Dallalana will typically include:

Getting the most from your appointment

You may find it helpful to:
  • Write down any questions in advance
  • Bring a support person if you wish
  • Be open about your symptoms, activity levels, and goals

Returning patient appointments

If you are attending for follow-up, please bring:
  • Any new imaging or test results
  • Updates from your physiotherapist or GP
  • Details of any changes in symptoms, medications, or general health
Please note: A new referral may be required if your previous one has expired.

Fees and payment

Consultation fees are payable on the day of your appointment. A portion of the fee can usually be claimed back from Medicare if you have a valid referral. We accept payment using EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or cash. There are no credit card surcharges. Note that fees for consultations with specialists are not covered by private healthcare policies.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact our rooms as soon as possible so we can offer the time to another patient. We appreciate at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
