The Shoulder Reconstruction Institute is a specialist orthopaedic shoulder service dedicated exclusively to the assessment, treatment, and reconstruction of complex shoulder conditions. The Institute was established to provide focused, high-level care for patients with challenging shoulder pathology, drawing on subspecialist expertise, evidence-based practice, and group opinion and collaboration.
All cases are reviewed by the team to draw upon the widest breadth of knowledge and experience. Some cases are brought further forward into discussion at national and international level as required.
The institute offers a fellowship training program under the direction of Mr. Dallalana and the Epworth Hospital Musculoskeletal Institute.
It maintains strong links with teaching hospitals and Melbourne University in the conduct of clinical and biomechanical research.
