Richard specialises in arthroscopic reconstruction of the shoulder for sports injuries. He performs shoulder joint replacement for arthritis using computer-assisted surgery.

In October 2018, Richard visited Papua New Guinea on a charity surgical mission, as part of the Cabrini Outreach PNG Orthopaedic Service and Education Program. Education

Richard lectures regularly at national and international surgical meetings. This is a recording of Richard’s live presentation to members of the Indian Arthroscopy Society, in May 2020. In August 2019, Richard was a program director at an international shoulder summit in Chicago. His section covered the latest advances in robotics and computer assisted shoulder replacement and he lectured on comparisons of shoulder replacement surgery techniques in Australia and across the world.
